Lip Makeup Application Technique:

1.Outlining With Lip Liner:

Before outlining the lips check that your lips are smooth and grease free.Use a sharp lip liner pencil in a shade close to that of your lipstick colour and with a steady hand, lightly outline the lips. For the upper lip, start at the centre and work out, towards the corner of the mouth. For the lower lip, work from side to side.

2.Priming The Lips With A Lip Balancer:
Fill in the lips with a special base or balancer to even out the skin tones. If your lips are of an even colour, use a face powder as a base.

3.Filling Up With Lipstick:Using a lip brush, fill in the colour. For the upper lip start at the center and work outwards. On the lower lip work from side to side.Don't pile up too much colour. It is much easier to add more later than to remove any excess.

4.Blotting Off:Fold a clean tissue and place it between your lips.Press the lips lightly together to remove the excess colour and to help seal the remainder, so that it stays on the lips rather than moving onto every glass you use.

5.Final Lip Gloss Application:Finally finish with a lip gloss to get a gleaming look. However, women with extra-full lips, should use lip gloss very sparingly.

Shaping Up Your Lips:

Through a knowledge of what you can do to correct lip shape you can truly achieve a perfect finish to your face.Study the shape of your lips, identify the defects, if any, and decide on what you want to achieve and then proceed.

1.Small Mouth With Small Lips:

These are easily corrected by taking the lip liner pencil outside the natural lip line.Work slowly and steadily to form a perfect shape.Fill in with primer and finally with the lipstick.A highlight of frosting on the upper lip would also create an impression of fullness.

2.Large Mouth With Full Lips:Apply liquid foundation makeup to the entire mouth, then outline with a dark shade of lipstick just inside the natural contours of the mouth. Then apply lipstick of a lighter shade carefully and accurately within this outline.Subdued shades work well for this kind of mouth.Use medium toned lip colours and avoid dark browns, plums, electric brights or pale shimmer shades.

3.Full Upper Lip:Apply fluid foundation makeup to the upper lip.Outline just inside its natural contour and apply a dark shade of lipstick. Then outline the lower lip just outside its natural contour and emphasize by filling in with a lighter shade of lipstick.
4.Full Lower Lip:Outline upper lip just outside its natural contour.Apply a light shade of lipstick and in the center add a touch of lip gloss.Apply fluid foundation makeup to the lower lip. Outline just inside its natural contour. Then fill in with a darker shade of lipstick, using a lip brush.
5.Wide Mouth:Cover the corners of the mouth with foundation makeup or a cover stick.Apply lipstick with a lip brush, stopping a few millimeters before the corners of the mouth are reached.

Patching Up:If makeup has to be touched up during the day, only powder makeup should be applied, using a brush.Use gentle patting strokes and blot the excess off.

Lips Make-up

The colour of you lips brightens and enhances your appearance. It is the final touch to facial makeup.Lip cosmetics are now available in sticks, tubes, pencils, as liquids and in pots.

A.Lip Liners:
A liplining pencil has a harder consistency than a lipstick and is used to outline the lips so as to clearly define their shape. It is a great aid, if your lips are not perfectly shaped; you can make the lips appear thinner or fuller or you can draw an uplifted corner if your lips droop. The outlining of the lips in addition, prevents bleeding of the lip product into the tiny lines that are present around the mouth, giving the lips a sharp, defined outline.

B.Lipsticks:
Lipsticks are the most commonly used lip make-up.They come in a variety of colours. The colour you use should harmonise not only with the rest of the make-up but with your attire and with the rest of you as well.Remember pale skins would need soft colours while darker skins can carry off the more vibrant shades. Most lipsticks consist of a fatty base to ensure that the product stays firm and solid. At the same time, efforts are made to make the product soft enough to cover the lips smoothly and with the minimum of pressure. The colour in the lipsticks is provided by pigments or by dyes. These should not fade off too quickly but should stay on the lips while you eat, drink, smoke and kiss.It is also equally important that no unsafe chemicals are used as the product is often swallowed. You can find lipsticks in traditional tubes, pots, pencils, and even wands with innovative designs emerging daily. While color selection is a personal choice, current fashion trends also play a big part in influencing a woman's choice of lipstick.
To create that perfect pair of lips you should start by lining with a neutral colored pencil following your natural lip line. Using a lip brush fill in with lip color of your choice. Use your lip brush to blend the two so that there are no harsh edges. If you are not fortunate to have full lips, wear the lightest, frostiest lipsticks you can find. They will cause your lips to look fuller.Use of Vitamin E Lip Protectors before application of any type of lipstick moisturizes and nourishes the lips preventing dryness and cracking. These are readily available in the market.

Lipstick Tips:
1. To create your own smudge-resistant lipstick blot your lips with one sheet of two-ply tissue. Reapply lipstick and blot again. This will absorb the oils in the product and leave the pigment and matte waxes.
2. If you are over 40 you should avoid wearing matte lipsticks. You will look best with a little shine on your lips.Always use a lip liner since it prevents the lipstick from ‘bleeding’.

Why Does The Colour Of Lipstick Change On The Lips ?

When your lipstick changes colour or "turns blue" on your lips, after a period of wear, it is an indication that it needs to be reapplied. This change occurs because the so-called true colour of the lipstick (the colour you see in the lipstick case or on the lips immediately after application) has worn out more quickly than those components of the lipstick which are responsible for the adherence and these chemicals generally have a slight bluish tone.Habits like biting or picking the lips intensify the problem, since they help remove the true colour even more quickly. If your lips are not dry and clean, when you are applying the lipstick, the colour loss is more rapid. You would face this problem less frequently with brown or brick shades, since these pigments tend to keep their colour better than pink or mauve shades.
Lipsticks seem to come off rather easily nowadays as they are less heavy and less staining than they once were. This is because they contain more waxes and emollients to give them a sheer glossy finish.

C.Lip Gloss:
Lipstick, long the favorite of many women, is now getting some tough competition from its counterpart lip gloss. Lip gloss is now back with a bang.Apply lip gloss over lipstick or alone. Remember that gloss would emphasize and therefore make your lips appear to be fuller.Women with extra-full lips, should use lip gloss very sparingly.

WHAT YOUR HAIR SAYS ABOUT YOU

You might think your flowing tresses say "casual", but are other actually hearing "unconfident"?
What does your hair really say about you?

Secret Signals Your Hair Sends:

Short

Cropped hair is often interpreted as signifying intelligence, openness and honesty -what you see is what you get. As a rule, shorter styles also tend to make younger women appear older and more sophisticated.

Shoulder length

A woman with medium-length hair is usually perceived as classy and strong. People often view her as powerful, and someone who exemplifies both brains and beauty.

Long

If long hair is well kept, it suggests confidence and sensuality. But watch out for unkempt styles, which send a very different message: that the person is trying to cover up the parts of her body or face she considers flawed.

Curly vs Straight

Waves give the impression of playfulness, warmth and carefree nature; wearing your hair straight tells people that you are together, polished and stylish.

Ponytail

A neat, traditional ponytail is the picture of poise - it's a good style for meeting your boyfriend's parents or giving a presentation in front of your boss. A pony tail higher on the head conveys a more casual, energetic look.

HAIR EXTENSIONS

Who gets hair extensions? What are hair extensions, methods, etc.? When can you get hair extensions? Where do you get hair extensions? Why would you get hair extensions?

And perhaps the biggest question...How are they attached?
A good place to start is explaining what hair extensions are all about. In a society where immediate results are very popular, the beauty industry has developed and improved the ancient technique of adding human or synthetic hair to your own hair and making it look like it grew out of your own head.
We say 'ancient' because people have been doing this since forever, with wigs, hairpieces, weaves and such. Many of today's methods have been adapted from African-American stylists that weave human or synthetic hair into corn rows for a long, flowing and natural look.

So who gets hair extensions? Many celebrities get hair extensions for various movie roles. The celebrity factor is what has catapulted the popularity of hair extensions over the last 5 years. When you see magazine covers with famous actors having long, flowing natural looking long hair, you begin to think that maybe you could get the same look. Once thought as a rich person's service, hair extensions have become much more affordable and even practical for everyday consumers.
The main reason for getting hair extensions is to add length to your hair style, although they can be used to thicken your hair or even add highlights. Hair extension expert Rod Sickler, Owner of Images by Rod & Company in Rantoul Illinois says, "Don't limit yourself to just adding length to your hair. Hair extensions offer a simple solution to fine hair and can add a little pizzazz to thick, curly or wavy hair in any color or style."
"Any hair type can support hair extensions", says Sickler. Sickler makes hair extensions easy by creating cutting-edge hair styles for his clients. Some examples include sleek and straight hair, vivacious ringlets and striking color enhancements with the use of different highlighted and lowlighted hair extensions. He describes the hair extension process as very painstaking and challenging as it requires many hours and various techniques to complete. The rewards are many as he is able to re-invent hair, tweak techniques and fulfill his clients' needs.

When can you get hair extensions? Whenever you have a few hours available! Most hair extension stylists will offer a consultation prior to your actual appointment to get the hair extensions attached. The human or synthetic hair typically needs to be pre-ordered so that it matches your own hair or the intended color you are interested in.
In the consultation, the stylists will discuss your current hair health, how the extensions will be attached, possible side effects and what you will need to take care of them. If you are experiencing significant hair loss, hair thinning or have extremely damaged hair, the stylist should recommend that you do NOT get hair extensions until your condition improves.

Where can you get hair extensions? As the hair extension service becomes more and more popular, you will find many more stylists that go to training and education classes to become certified in hair extension services. The stylist does not necessarily need to be certified, but it is very important that they have been trained and educated properly in hair extensions.
Hair extensions are a big investment, financially and emotionally. If the stylist you select does not have proper training, many things can go wrong, including some of your natural hair falling out or even being ruined. Make sure you do your homework in selecting a stylist. Ask to see before/after photos, get references, check if any complaints have been filed against a stylist, etc. All hair extensions have the potential to cause damage to your hair. The experience of the hair stylist is the biggest factor in positive results.

Finally, the biggest question, How are the hair extensions attached? There are a variety of methods to attach hair extensions. The type and style of hair selected can be a determining factor in how they are attached. Human and synthetic hair can be attached strand by strand or in wefts. A strand of hair would be considered to be 30 or so pieces of hair. A weft is a section of hair that is attached together at the top. The weft is typical sewn or bonded in to the natural hair. Other innovative methods include fusion, bonding, locs, clamps, using string and more.
There are advantages and disadvantages to every method of hair extension available today. There can be a big cost difference between one method and another. There is a direct relationship between time and cost. Most hair extensions are time-intensive, resulting in the major portion of the costs involved. Another major factor is the quality of the human or synthetic hair that is used. Quality hair is expensive. The hair industry is not regulated so determining what or who supplied quality hair can be difficult. Research and education is a primary factor in a successful hair extension service.
After you have hair extensions, it is very important that you take care of them properly. Some methods will require the use of special shampoos and styling appliances. There may be recommendations from your stylist in reference to sleeping, brushing, swimming, shampooing and styling your hair extensions. Regular maintenance is also an important step to keep the hair healthy and looking good. Long hair requires work. So make plans to put your time in... as well as your money!

HAIR STYLES · THE PERFECT HAIRSTYLE FOR YOUR FACE

There must be a million and one ways to style our hair.
If you like your hair styled short, there are short hair styles for women, short hairstyles for men, short curly hair styles, short black hair styles, celebrity short hair styles, etc.
If you like your hair styled long, there are long frizzy hair styles, long curly hair styles, long layered hair styles, long braided hair styles, etc. However, everyone's face shapes are not created equal. Some faces are round, some are thin, some are soft, and some are angular.
Believe it or not, a hairstyle can help to accentuate or draw away from certain facial characteristics.
The following are tips on styles that can make the most of your particular features:

  • Face Too Round - Putting a side part in the hair will slim and lengthen a face that's too round.
  • Thin Face - Curls or fullness at the sides will widen a long, thin face.
  • Large Nose - A full hairstyle or upswept crown makes the nose less noticeable.
  • Sharp, Angular Features - A wavy or curly hairstyle will soften a chiseled cheekbone, nose or jaw.
  • High forehead - A horizontal line of full bangs can cover the forehead, balancing the face.
  • Strong or Square Chin - A short cut with soft curls or fullness at the crown, takes attention away from the chin.
  • Narrow Chin - Long hair with fullness at the chin will balance a narrow chin.
  • Low Forehead - Vertical lines and soft fullness at the crown can lengthen the face.

WHAT IS MY FACE SHAPE?

It's hard to be objective about your own face shape, but here's a sure fire way to be sure your not biasing your own analysis. Hair designers are the ultimate judges of your face shape, but if you need a little help try this experiment.
There are lots of suggestions on how to figure out your shape, from outlining your face shape on a mirror with lipstick to draping it with a towel and asking others to help you guess the shape. But, there is actually a scientific way to determine your face shape once and for all.
To find out the shape of your face, measure it with a tape measure or ruler. You will take the following measurements.
  1. Measure your face across the top of your cheekbones. Write down the measurement on a piece of paper.
  2. Measure across your jaw line from the widest point to the widest point. Write down the measurement.
  3. Measure across your forehead at the widest point. Generally the widest point will be somewhere about halfway between your eyebrows and your hairline. Write down the measurement.
  4. Measure from the tip of your hairline to the bottom of your chin.
Oval Face
Length equal to one and a half times width.
Forehead is wider than the chin.
Prominent Cheekbones.
Face gracefully tapers to a narrow oval chin.
Round Face
Your face is as wide as it is long. This may vary a little but generally the measurement is close.
Face is widest at the cheeks.

Longer than it is wide.
Forehead, cheekbones and jawline are all about the same width.
Can tend to have a prominent chin.
Has an elongated appearance.
Heart
Narrow at jaw line, wide at cheekbones/and or forehead.
Similar to oval, but the chin tapers to a point.
Square
Your face is about as wide as it is long.
Forehead, cheekbones and jawline all about the same width.
Squared jawline is the most obvious feature.
Diamond
Widest at cheekbones, narrow forehead and jaw line of approximately equal widths.

Triangle
Reverse of the heart-shape.
A dominant jaw line with narrowing at the cheek bone, temples and forehead.

HAIR LOSS

Male Pattern Baldness:

On average, there are 90,000 to 150,000 hairs on the scalp. The hairs grow from roots called follicles. Blood vessels at the base of each follicle provide nourishment vital for hair and hair growth. Hair growth in each root occurs in a cycle independent of each other.

At any time about 90 percent of the hairs on the scalp are in the growth phase, while the other 10 percent are in the resting phase. The growth phase can last an average of up to five years, after which the follicle goes into a resting phase, which can last upto four months. At the end of this phase, the hair falls out and is replaced by a new hair. This is all a perfectly normal part of the growth cycle.
In fact, on a typical day, up to 150 hairs can be lost. Baldness occurs when hair is lost at an unusually high rate and hair replacement occurs at an unusually slow rate and/or when normal hairs are replaced by weaker, smaller ones.

What is Male Pattern Baldness?

Almost all cases of hair loss is the result of Male pattern baldness (or androgenetic alopecia). Male pattern baldness occurs much more frequently in men than in women. Even in mild cases It affects roughly 50 million men in the United States. Balding may begin at any age after puberty.
While some types of hair loss is reversible, male pattern baldness tends to be permanent. It occurs in a very typical pattern on the scalp. Hair loss usually begins at the temples and at the top of the head toward the back, causing a receding hairline and a bald spot. Sometimes progressing further until the two sections become joined, leaving a horseshoe pattern on the sides and back of the head.
Male pattern baldness progresses slowly and is not associated with any physical discomfort.

What causes male pattern baldness?

Male pattern baldness is thought to be a combination of hormonal and genetic factors. Testosterone and its more potent derivative dihydrotestosterone (DHT) are the contributimg factors of the degree of balddness. Whatever the exact causes of male pattern baldness may be, it is hereditary. A tendency toward baldness on either side of a man's family(mother or father) indicates The speed, pattern, and degree of the balding.
Usually, the earlier it begins, the more severe the hair loss will be. Balding is not caused by wearing a hat, you cant regrow hair by Massaging or brushing, or excessive shampooing stimulate hair growth. These are thought to be false. Stress may contribute to a form of hair loss, but normal everyday stress does not contribute to balding.

What are the treatment options for male pattern baldness?

  • Herbal Shampoos
  • Herbal Remedies
  • Specialty Shampoos(for example Helsinki Formula)
  • Wigs
  • Transplants
  • Medication(Propecia,Minoxidil etc)
  • Home Remedies
  • Others

Hair transplantation

In hair transplants, healthy live follicles are removed from a donor site on the scalp and transplanted to the balding area. The follicles are commonly taken in "plugs" of one hair to two hairs (micrografts) from the sides or back of the head and moved to the balding area, with the hairline being slowly reconstructed. Larger plugs may be used. Donor sites with full hair make transplants more successful. Some scarring may occur.
Transplanted follicles are usually permanent. Synthetic hair has also been used for transplants but has been known for to have a high rate of infection and has been been banned. As with any surgical procedure, hair transplantation present certain risks. If you are considering a transplant, consult your doctor.

Wigs

A hairpiece can be custom made to cover a balding area. Hairpieces may fade and over time. It is important to clean the scalp under the hairpiece regularly. Another option is a weave, in which fake(synthetic) hair is sewn into existing hair.
This just a quick run down of what happens when most men reach a certain age. Here are a couple of sites that we have found that will educate and inform and give you everything you want to know about Male Pattern Baldness. The reviews are very positive and even might give you possible solutions to this problem that has afflicted almost every man for generations.

COLORED HAIR CARE TIPS

  • Colored and treated hair needs extra special care to keep it in good condition.

  • Wear hats, scarves or products with sunscreens when in the sun, to help protect against color fade and the drying effects of the sun.

  • Leave in conditioners generally contain sunscreens to protect against color fade.

  • Rough shampooing can strip color or dry out hair, so shampoo gently with a shampoo specially created for colored/treated hair.

  • Condition regularly with an intensive conditioner to restore vital moisture and luster to colored/treated hair.

  • Use color enhancing conditioners as color grows out to help blend root areas.

  • Do not wrap your wet hair in a towel turban after a shower. The added friction can knot and damage vulnerable wet hair. Instead, carefully blot hair dry.

  • Don't brush hair when wet. Comb with a wide-tooth comb, working tangles out as you move from the end towards the scalp.

  • Don't overdry. When you blow dry, dry the hair until it is almost but not completely, dry. Leave some moisture in to prevent static.

  • Use care when styling. When using styling appliances, use thermal protectant for maximum protection. Avoid aggressive manipulation of the hair.

  • Use hairspray or spritz with moisturizers and sunscreens to finish the hair. These products will provide continual protection throughout the day.

  • Don't spray lightening agents or put lemon juice in your hair.

  • Support your style with a perm. Just because you have color treated hair doesn't mean you can't have a perm. In fact, a perm specially formulated for color treated hair can add wonderful body, fullness and texture to complement your color.
  • TYPES OF HIGHLIGHTS/STREAKS

    Balayage

This method is used to achieve more lightening on the ends of the hair (It is more natural this way, as hair should always be darker on the base of the hair shaft or the root area), and less on the roots as with traditional highlights.
Bleach or a lightening product is painted on without using foils. Instead a brush and paddle are used in a sweeping motion giving the hair colorist a bit more room to play and less methodical streaks.
This method can be used to accent facial features. It brings out the eyes by adding bolder pieces of color at eye level.
Balayage is more carefree than highlights, and because the streak isn%u2019t as defined, it looks edgier and more artsy.
Maintenance: Touch up every 3-4 months.

    Highlights

Highlights blend two or three shades of color for a hand-of-nature effect. Or, for a more significant statement it is applied using a bleach or lightening product.
They add warmth to skin and give the hair texture and depth. It's like what a surfer's hair would look like, natural and funky.
Maintenance: They should be updated every 4-6 weeks if you've lightened your hair color a lot (a heavy weave). If you have natural-looking highlights then 3-6 months is good. At homes kits are really bad to achieve this effect, as they don't lighten enough unless you are a natural blonde.

    The Skunk
Though getting an oversize stripe of color seems like it'd be simple, it's not! You need to be the type of person who takes care of their hair, someone who wears the makeup and dresses the part.
Stacking foils very tightly to create a streak at least on inch wide creates the look. Or, 1 inch panels close to the scalp about 1 inch apart is also another method.
Contrary to the name, you don't have to go for high-contrast hair color. A lighter red on redheads, or a honey streak on brunettes.
Maintenance: it takes only 15-20 minutes, but you have to retouch the roots once a month.

    Tips
A hair colorist basically takes just the ends of hair and lightens them, either by painting on the color or by using foils for a dramatic effect. Go a few shades lighter then your own natural hair color and keep it piecey and chunky.
This look is perfect for straight hair with a bit of body.
Maintenance: The great news is if you don't like it, the hair color is easy to cut off and grows out with your hair. As a result, it looks great for 3 months at a time.

    Highlights vs Lowlights

highlight lightens and brightens the hair - Blonde and gold tones.
lowlight darkens and deepens it - Reds, plums and aubergine shades.
Highlights and lowlights are a great way to update your look without making too dramatic or bold a change. Whether you're growing out a style or you want a little pick me up during winter, highlights and lowlights are great for brightening up your hair and your look.
Any length hair or style can benefit from highlighting or lowlighting. Whatever your natural color is, you shouldn't go more than three or four shades lighter or darker, as the result will be too harsh and unnatural.
The cost of highlights or lowlights can vary quite a lot depending on a number of factors- you can either get a 'full head' or 'half head'.

Quick Slide-Up Braid | Cute Girls Hairstyles

CELEBRITY HAIR · BEYONCE KNOWLES HAIRSTYLES

This page has photos of Beyonce Knowles hairstyles. Hairstyle.com shows you how to copy Beyonce's hairstyles, so you can look like Beyonce Knowles.
Whether she is wearing it straight, up or in a curly afro, Beyonce's hair always looks amazing.
Her hair is always worn long.
Sometimes she straightens it for a sleek, smooth and formal appearance. But our personal favourite is the tumbling barrel curls, which give Beyonce a look of old Hollywood glamour.

For beautiful barrel curls like Beyonce Knowles
    • Shampoo and condition hair. Towel dry hair gently.
    • With damp hair, take a small section of hair- about one and half inches. Comb it smooth and spray it with volumising spray or hair spray. This will help hold the curls and give your hair body.
    • Wrap this section of hair around a large roller. Velcro rollers are a great modern roller. There is no need for pins, as velcro rollers stick to the hair itself.
    • Remember to roll the hair in the direction you want the hair to go.
    • Let your hair dry naturally if you have time. If you are in a rush, use a hairdryer to dry your hair.
    • Unravel the rollers once your hair is dry. Gently comb the curls with your fingers. Finish with another spray of hair to hold your sexy curls!

How To Determine Your Eyebrow Shape

How To Shape Your Eyebrow Arch

The eyebrows are one of the most expressive features of the face and a great deal of emotion can be conveyed through them. Surprising then that when it comes to the topic of women’s beauty, the subject of eyebrows is often overlooked and underappreciated. Since the shape of your eyebrows, especially where your eyebrows arch, is so influential to your appearance, knowing how to shape your eyebrow arch is a must have skill to enhance your overall look.

Easy Steps For Shaping Your Eyebrows
After removing all eye makeup look at your face in a well lighted mirror. To form the ideal eyebrow shape, simply follow three imaginary lines. Using an eyebrow pencil or anything long, straight and slender, hold the object vertically in front of your face. Line it up so that it touches the outer edge of your nostril and the inside corner of your eye. This line determines where your eyebrow should start . Mark where the line crosses your eyebrow with an eyebrow pencil or eyeliner. Do the same for the other eyebrow. Any eyebrow hair inside these two marks needs to be plucked out using tweezers or wax. If your eyebrows fail to reach the marks you have made above the inner corners of your eyes, then you will need to fill that part of the eyebrow area in.

Take the eyebrow pencil and hold it to the outer edge of your nostril again. This time, swing the pencil towards your pupil. Stop when the eyebrow pencil crosses the center of your pupil. Mark the spot where the line meets your eyebrow. This is where you arch should begin. Continue swinging the eyebrow pencil past your pupil to the outer edge of the iris (the colored portion) of the eye. Where the line intersects your eyebrow is where your eyebrow arch should be at its peak, or highest . Mark this spot with an eyebrow pencil. Repeat this process for the other eyebrow. During this step make sure that you are looking straight ahead; both your face and your eyes should be looking directly forward into the mirror. To create the arch, remove hairs from the bottom of the brow bone, not the top. The only time you should pluck hair from above the brow line is when you are removing any stray hairs that occur above the brow. After the peak, the arch should begin descending immediately.

    Get Awesome Eyebrows (eyebrow tutorial)

    Eye Brow Shaping

How To Shape And Define Your Eyebrows

Eye brow shaping, in the make-up application process, should be done before applying foundation, concealer and powder to the face. Defining your eyebrows before applying eye make up, cheek color or lipstick makes a big difference in the overall balance you are trying to create.

Make-up artists consider eyebrows and eye brow shaping the most important facial feature because well defined eye brows will frame the eyes, make them look bigger and give the face a polished look.

Shapeless and messy eyebrows can ruin any make-up effect you try to create. You can have a facialist wax them (or use laser hair removal) but first be sure she knows which shape you want and is experienced in eye brow shaping. Although there are many choices, the most elegant brow shape is long, clean, and natural.

    Hold The Tweezers!

The main purpose of eye brow shaping and removing unwanted hair from the eyebrow area is to create a flattering arch that enhances the eye. Make sure that you have a clear idea of the shape you wish to achieve before you pick up a pair of tweezers. It's best to stick to a naturally trimmed look, unless you are trying to create a more dramatic effect.

If you are thinking of plucking your eye brows for the first time, see a professional before you do. Many times the hair tweezed during eye brow shaping does not grow back right or does not grow back at all. Either way, you will need a good pair of tweezers and the ability to use them correctly. Few makeup tricks can help you look as good as a pair of beautiful eye brows can.

Most of us women have eyebrows that require some type of definition (eye brow shaping) to look complete. Applying make-up to your eyebrows helps them stand out and look complete. At first, you may feel the eye brow pencil has exaggerated your eye brows. Just remember that your are used to seeing your old look and it takes a short time to adjust to a new look.

    Eye Brow Shaping To Perfection

Begin the eye brow shaping process by balancing your eyebrow so that it is proportionate with the rest of your face. Look in the mirror and place imaginary lines (or a pencil) across your face to match the lines shown here. Do this on both sides of the nose and pluck only in between. Be careful about the distance between the inner brows and the length of the brows.

    A. When eye brow shaping, imagine a vertical line going up from the outside of   your nostril towards your forehead. The inner part of the eyebrow should converge with this line.
    B. A straight line going out from the outside corner of your nostril past the outer corner of your eye marks the end of your eyebrow.
    C. Your arch should be found two thirds of the way from your inner eyebrow.

    Plucking Your Eye Brows Away

No two eyebrows are exactly the same but during this eye brow shaping phase you can achieve as symmetrical a look as possible. Start by using tweezers with pointed or slanted tips since they grip the hairs best.
Never pluck the top of your eye brows, always pluck below the eye brow line, and follow it's natural arch. You can use the top of the brow as a guideline to shape the bottom.
You will notice that the eyebrow gets narrower as it goes upwards and outwards. Pluck the hairs out toward the ears following the natural hair growth. Pluck slowly and check your eye brow shaping progress often by looking in the mirror.

    1. To begin eye brow shaping, start at the inner corner, brush the eyebrow upwards and back using a     mascara wand or brow brush, then brush downwards the hair to be removed.
    2. Draw over your eyebrow a very dark outline of the shape you want using a dark eyebrow pencil. Make sure both eyebrows are as symmetrical as possible, then remove any hairs outside the outline.

    3. Begin hair removal of hairs outside this outline (stray hairs) using tweezers. Pluck each hair as close to the root as possible. Pluck one hair at a time, always pluck from underneath the brow and pull hairs in their growth direction using a swift, sharp movement.
    4. After plucking eyebrows, brush them into shape using an eye brow brush. Work upward and outward to give the brow more definition. Your eye brow    shaping phase is complete.
    5. To achieve symmetry you can use eyebrow pencil, shadow or stencil to define the eye brows. Use light strokes to fill in any gaps.
    6. Comb through again with the brow brush to blend in the eyebrow pencil. You can use hair spray to keep hairs in place by spraying a clean mascara wand and combing it through the eyebrow.

What Eye Brow Color To Blend In

After eye brow shaping you need to determine your eyebrow make-up color using your present hair color as a guideline, whether it's natural or artificially colored.

Eye Makeup for Different Eye Shapes

Every woman is unique and beautiful. At the same time, there’s no woman lacking any defects of appearance. As for the face, the defects can be easily corrected with makeup and finally appear as advantages. Every woman should know, how to apply makeup so that it would emphasize her natural beauty and make her more attractive and at the same time would hide defects. Depending on the shape of your eyes choose different colors and ways of applying eye makeup. I will tell you how.

Eye Makeup for Deep Set Eyes
If you have deep set eyes, choose light and nacreous tints of eyeshadows, it would help to make your eyes appearvisually bigger. Apply light eyeshadows on your eyelid from the inner corner of your eye to the outer and a bit further. Light colors should be applied in the middle of the lid, and darker colors – on and just above the socket line. Blend the darker shade up and out.

Eye Makeup for Wide Set Eyes

You can visually reduce the range between your eyes if you apply a darker tint of eyeshadows from the outer corner of your eye to the middle of the eyelid. Apply a lighter eye shadow from the middle of your eyelid to the inner corner of your eye. Blend in different shades in the middle of the eyelid.

Eye Makeup for Close Set Eyes

Close set eyes are those narrower than one eye width. Apply some corrector on the inner corners of both eyes. Using an eyeliner draw a very thin line with along the upper eyelashes so that it becomes thicker near the outer corner of your eyes. Apply a very thin layer of light eye-shadows from the inner corner of your eyes to the middle of your eyelid. Then apply eyeshadows of darker tints starting from the middle of your eyelid to the outer corner. Blend the colors in the middle of the eyelids. Use more mascara on the outer corners.

Eye Makeup for Down Turned Eyes

If you want to make down turned eyes more beautiful, it’s important to shade eye shadow up and out. Apply eyeliner close to the upper lash line and then blend in the shadow along the socket line in the outer two thirds of the eyes. In order to visually lift the eyes, apply dense mascara.

    Eye Makeup for Asian Eyes

If you have Asian eyes, apply light eyeshadows on your eyelids. Use a pencil to make a thick smoky line along upper eyelashes (the line should be thick enough to be seen well when your eyes are open). Under the lower eyelashes draw a thinner line. In order to make your eyes visually wider apply brown eyeshadow on your eyebrows. Cover your eyelasheswith two or three layers of dense mascara.

Eye Makeup for Those Wearing Spectacles

If the frame of your spectacles is bright, it is not necessary to add color with eyeshadows. It is better to pay attention to your eyelashes and put the accent on them. If you usually prefer brown mascara, try a black one. To give you eyelashes more volume and make them fluffy, use a dense mascara and apply it from the roots to the tips. Those wearing tortoiseor horn-rimmed spectacles should find time and correct the shape of eyebrows and color them if it is necessary. It’s important that your eyebrows and eyes determine your face, but not the spectacles.

    The Secret of Big Eyes

Shadows of dark shades make your eyes visually smaller, deep set, while light tints, on the contrary, make them appear bigger, “open them wider”. If you want to create the effect of big, beautiful eyes, choose light eyeshadows. Apply eyeshadows after the application of eye pencil or any other kind of eyeliner: it would make your look softer and dreamy. If you want to make your look more dramatic, apply eyeliner after the application of eye-shadows. Then curl your eyelashes, it would add them shape. Then finish your eye make-up with a layer of mascara. In order to add more volume to your eyelashes and to make them appear bigger use a dense mascara. Never line the inner edge of the lower eyelashes, it would make your eyes visually smaller.
